style staple: white shirt

As anyone who knows me will attest, I show up just about everywhere dressed in some form of white shirt.  A little cotton blouse, a soft white t, a floaty silk version for a dressy night out. It never fails that I am getting dressed in 3 minutes or less and my lineup of trusty skinny jeans and white tops do the trick. The mood is set by shoes and accessories...add Converse, heels, flip flops, riding boots, oxfords or wedges depending on the outting.  Delicate gold bracelets or an armful of beads and Chan Luu.  Whatever the occasion...

spring street

Today we take a u-turn to... casual spring style. I know it is still January but as all the mags start talking about resort wear I thought we could ease into the idea of it. The moments of my youth spent dreaming over sunny beach images in January's Vogue magazine while a snowstorm brewed outside my bedroom window were just the dreamy moments I needed to get me through Toronto winters.

So lets stick our toe in the water

I am loving the unexpected nature of the crochet back and the graphic idea of polka dots or stripes.  Black and white always makes it into my closet no matter what the season. And of course, my standby chambray must be on the spring shopping list. Paired with leather it looks fresh and sassy.

Tuesday's girl

Hello!  The day is moving along and I am just now getting a post up. I do try to have fresh things up by 9am but lately it seems to happen later in the day. I started to feel a little stress about that, and then realized that when I rush I don't enjoy this process as much. I always want to stay in the headspace of pure creativity, and not 'deadline' while working on this blog. I worked in advertising for 20 years in heavy deadline mode and I am trying to remember I don't have to put that kind of pressure on myself when creating this blog.  Phew. 

I guess what I am trying to say, is thank you for reading. Thank you for checking in. I hope its ok if new posts hit the wires a little later some days than others. I enjoy this process and I hope you enjoy reading ... even if it is later in the day.

Feeling a little hint of fall in the air?  (I wish... not yet here in FLA).  But if I were I would be wearing something like this. I love how this image is a little hard and a little soft all at the same time.  Leather jacket and studded shoes vs. soft slouchy sweater.  Beauty on the street vs. a 'don't mess with me' look on her face. Sometimes a girl just has to be both. A little hard, a little soft. Again, my Gemini tendencies.
