Saturday at canvas interiors

We here Chez K are on the mend including two little ones with big giant colds.  Mr. K is up and hobbling after knee surgery. So we hobbled to the store Saturday and I snapped a few pics of new things on the floor.  I almost squeaked with delight when I saw this metal cabinet.  I covet.

There is also a rectangular one in a space we call 'manvas'...
our more cozy man-den done the canvas interiors way

The Briland chandelier... big beautiful and romantic. It would look great just about anywhere.

a closer shot...

This mirror is huge and unique.  A must see in person if you are reading locally.

the new Loot Jewelry display looks perfect - we are so excited to carry it!

lighten up

I've been shooting a lot of images of our lights lately so today I will share with you a little of this, a little of that from the lighting collection at canvas interiors.  We have put together a collection of table lamps, pendants and chandeliers that feel artful and interesting. Everything from crystals to iron.  If you start with a simple canvas, you can create any vibe you wish.

Take a peek:

dangling crystals encased in contemporary silver - love this juxtaposition

simple shape, interesting texture - see below

our fan fav - we love it too.

tuesday at canvas

I love heading to the store after we have received new items.  Its fun to watch as things things shift around the floor and find new homes.  It is a pleasant puzzle of goodies.

round, big and delicate all at the same time

And in the pipeline are more pillows (black/grey, and pink/orange combos) more wool rugs, and some floor lamps we can't wait to see.  In the meantime here are a few new bits. Some round, some shiny, some soft.

full circle: Omega Too

I am lucky enough to have a bunch of really talented creative friends.  Art directors, designers, photographers, writers. I love it when these friends circle back through my life in unexpected and inspiring ways.

I first met Mark and Vanessa Bell when Mark and I worked together in San Francisco Ad Land.  Since then we have both moved to other ad jobs, other cities and eventually other creative adventures.  They moved back to the Bay Area years ago and are the creative duo behind Omega Too.

made from a collection of found & repurposed items,
this industrial farmhouse inspired birdcage light is a one of a kind

Fast forward... I stopped by a friend's house in Winter Park (FLA). She has just finished building a fabulous new house that is filled with treasures she has salvaged from a Chicago salvage yard.  Beautiful old doors, stained glass windows and other unique finds.

It hit me like a ton of Chicago brick - these two people need to connect!  I knew she would love Mark and Vanessa's eye for collecting vintage things and making one of a kind custom lighting.  They are extremely creative and hands on people.  Mark makes magic out of reclaimed items and Vanessa's lighting design is beautiful.

Here are a few more of my favorites from Mark and Vanessa Bell's amazing world of unique lighting....

Vanessa Bell fabric pendants

made with a repurposed industrial stainless mixer

made from found vintage heaters
and old holophane square shades

made from salvaged old heater coils,
motorcycle gears and a vintage shade

They also do custom iron curtain rods, beautiful custom wooden doors
and of course the amazing lights.

You can read more about Mark & Vanessa here (they are really nice) and find them on Facebook here.

If you are looking for something unique with a vintage story, Omega Too should be your first stop.

sunday at canvas

I spent a little time at the store over the holidays.  The lighting is really starting to shine.  Sorry, could  not resist...

I put a little collage together of some of the beautiful pieces we have so far.

1. This is silver and clear crystals.  I love how the crystal beads hang down through the middle.

2. This thing is HUGE.  The picture does not do it justice.

3. These pendants have a golden glow to them when lit and have a mercury glass finish.

4. I love this pendant.  It is actually quite big. We have 3 of them grouped together and hanging at different heights.

5.  This lamp is delicate and tall.  The shade has a nice linen texture to it which you can see when its lit.

6.  A coconut bead chandelier... very pretty when lit.  It kind of glows.

7.  This is a nickel lamp base with texture hammered onto it.

8.  Another big one.  Sparkle and shine without being too 'Victorian'.  We have it hanging over a zinc top table.

9. A sassy little lamp - white and shiny from top to bottom with a silver lining inside the shade.

So the countdown is really on now... we are opening in a few weeks!  Can't wait to see how people respond to it.  We are crossing our fingers that we have brought together pieces that people are excited about.

this just in:

This just arrived in the store.  I can't wait to see it hung and lit.  It has nice simple lines yet a bit of sparkle.  A perfect canvas interiors combo.
