...screened in porch
Our first nest together was a 1925 two story charmer. We tore off the old porch you see in this image and extended a screened-in porch out to where you see the stakes and yellow tape.
It completely changed our lives.
With a two year old and a newborn in a slightly small space, life outside on the porch was divine. Baby would sleep, big brother would play. Rain storms were dreamy and full of wonder. Doors to the main house were left open for a breeze.
We lived on that porch rain or shine. Living area, dining area, big screen TV, curtains and lots of wine. It was heaven. We have since moved into a lovely house closer to our schools and friends. Don't get me wrong, I love our house. But I miss our love nest porch. Every day.

We are trying to figure out how to make it work in our new (not so new anymore) house and I have been collecting inspiration. Here are a few images gathered along the way.
